The Initial Visit to Scripps Poway Orthodontics is simply an evaluation/screening of the patient’s orthodontic needs. There is no fee for this visit, as it is a complementary service we offer to our patients. At this visit, Dr. Maulik will answer the following questions:
If treatment is indicated, a set of diagnostic records (x-rays, study models and photographs) will be taken, and exact measurements of facial and dental development will be made. After examining these records, Dr. Maulik will recommend the best course of treatment and thoroughly review the proposed treatment plan.
Assuming orthodontic treatment is indicated, a full set of diagnostic records will be taken. These records include:
The appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes. Dr. Maulik will then use the information from these records to make the appropriate diagnosis and formulate a comprehensive treatment plan for the patient. The treatment options will then be discussed during the next visit.
After reviewing the records Dr. Maulik will discuss the relevant findings, as well as provide an overview of the planned course of treatment. This is a great opportunity to discuss the patient’s orthodontic needs and Dr. Maulik will happily answer any questions about the proposed orthodontic treatment plan. The patient can then schedule an appointment to have the braces put on and in some situations braces will be placed at this visit as well.
